"I grew up on bicycles, rode in college, but once I began my career and got married, I started to put on weight. So in 1988 I joined a gym, but being inside on beautiful days was terrible, so I bought a mountain bike. I rode it all the time and it turned into me racing it which turned into my career change. In 1992 I became a sales rep and loved it. The road eventually became tiring so I settled down at a shop in Colorado. Six bike shops later, I landed at Maplewood, and have now been here 10 years, and still loving it. I have the privilege of being in a rewarding line of work. I perform bike fits every day to make people healthier, happier, and better on their bikes, which makes me VERY happy! I no longer get to ride 8,000 miles a year, like I use to, but riding is still like a new hobby to me. I have always been more of a mountain biker, but doing both provides a great balance. I did my first duathlon in 2010 and plan to compete in sprint Tri's and off road triathlons in 2012. Bicycling is a great solution for environmental concerns, traffic congestion, health, and general mental health. It is a truly wonderful invention!"
